Laura Casanellas KantanMT

Have you ever wondered who are people behind KantanMT?

We are thrilled to announce a series of posts where we will give 5 questions to each of our team members. These questions will delve a little deeper into their thoughts about technology, language and personal interests!

We are delighted to introduce Laura Casanellas, who bravely accepted the challenge of going first.

What’s your role at KantanMT?

I am the Product Manager, which means that I work very closely with the Development team, Professional Services and the Sales and Marketing teams. That is pretty much everybody in KantanMT, right? It is good, as I am a sociable person!

What according to you is the most marketable technology right now?

Wearable technology and everyday objects with network connectivity seem to be what consumers want these days. Personally, I would like a wearable shield that would protect me and my bike from the dangers of Dublin’s crazy rush hour traffic on wet days, has this been invented yet?

(All of us at KantanMT agree we would love to have a wearable shield. We could use it for impromptu paint-ball battles in the office as well – the possibilities seem endless)

Regarding KantanMT, our clients already love KantanFleet and, as soon the word about KantanLQR spreads out, it will become first choice for evaluation of automated translation output!

What according to you is the least appreciated piece of technology?

The internet, it is so ubiquitous that we forget that once it didn’t exist.

What interests you the most in the world of automated translation?

I am interested to see how far it can go and what new possibilities are going to be created in the future. Personally, I’d like to learn more about speech to text technology.

If you could be any fictional character, who/ what would you be, and why?

My fKantanMT_Prince Andreyictional hero has always been prince Andrei Bolkonsky, a tortured soul if I ever saw one; another one would be Melquiades, the gypsy, a very early entrepreneur who brought wondrous inventions to a little town lost in the swamps. Regarding who I would like to be, I think I would like to be me with a long red cape and the ability to fly!
